Wayne L. Fleury, 59, of Escanaba, passed away on Friday evening, March 3, 2017 at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.
He was born on August 18, 1957 in Escanaba, MI, son to Donald and Theresa (Deneau) Fleury. He was raised in Escanaba for most of his life and graduated from Escanaba High School.
On November 18, 1978, Wayne married Tammy Hentz in Rochester, MI.
Wayne worked as an Equipment Operator for Pomeroy Forest Products.
He enjoyed working on Ford Trucks, watching NASCAR, taking rides, being in the woods, hunting and listening to old country music and the oldies. His man cave was in his pole barn which he enjoyed spending time in. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Among survivors include his wife of 38 years, Tammy, of Escanaba; his mother Theresa of Escanaba; children, Donald “DJ” Fleury of Soo Hill, Shannon (Steven) Hay of Escanaba, and Scott (Amy) Fleury of Gladstone; grandchildren, Aiden, Anna, Griffin, Cody, and Rylan; siblings, Lynn (Bob) Holmberg of Iron River, Norman (Karen) Fleury and Patti Fleury both of Gladstone, Donna (Dan) McDonald and Rhonda (Todd) Way both of Escanaba, Luke (Barbara) Fleury and Doug (Scarlette) Fleury both of Battle Creek, MI., and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was proceeded in death by his father Don; and sister, Noreen Upton.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 9th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor David Schaffer officiating. A meal will be provided during visitation hours in the dining area.
Burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
