Veronica S. “Vera” Grzyb, 84, Bark River, passed away on Saturday evening, June 18, 2016, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 8, 1932 in Bark River, daughter of the late Frank A. and Mary B. (Grabas) Koszla. She attended Ford River/Sunnyside Schools.

On March 27, 1951, Vera married John G. Grzyb in Chicago, IL.

Vera worked for a short time in a factory in Chicago in her early years, worked as a cook at Jack and Angie’s Restaurant, and also helped work in the woods. She worked on the family dairy farm all of her life. Her greatest pride was raising her children and taking care of her family.

Vera was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bark River.

She is survived by her four sons, Ron (Cathy) of Bark River, John (Mary) of Bark River, Joe (Jill) of Menominee, Dan (Toni) of Bark River; four daughters, Mary Ann (Stephen) Nelson of Bark River and Cathy (Henry) Broeders of Bark River, Carol Maki of Gladstone, and Annette (Steve) Minor of Marinette, WI; daughter in law, Mary Grzyb; sister, Clara Meyers of Bark River; sister in law, Rose Koszla; and 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Steve; and brother, John Koszla; and son in law, John Maki.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River with parish prayer at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Thursday morning, June 23, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bark River. A meal will follow in the church hall.

Burial will be in Bark River Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Grzyb family.
