Alvera “Vera” Gaudrault, Schaffer, joined her parents; sister, Delores; and brothers, Melvin and Harold in heaven on December 15, 2014.
Vera was born in Schaffer to Louis and Selma Racicot on December 21, 1925.
She attended Schaffer grade school and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1944. After graduation, she clerked in her father’s grocery store until her marriage to Francis Gaudrault at Sacred Heart Church with Father Peltier officiating on August 21, 1947.
Vera took pride in her home and caring for her husband and son. She enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, and ceramics.
She was Catholic by faith and a member or St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
She is survived by her husband of 67, Francis; son, Terry of Wausau, WI; three sisters, Eunice Morin of Niagara, Geraldine DeMars of Wells, Donna (Don) Erickson of Escanaba; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Honoring her wishes, there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a church of one’s choice for masses said in her remembrance.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Schaffer.
