Thomas P. Montroy, 52, Petoskey, formerly of Escanaba, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey with his family by his side.

He was born in Ypsilanti, MI on April 3, 1963, son of the late Roy A. and Alice L. (Phelps) Montroy.

Tom graduated from Houghton High School.

He had a great love of music and worked various jobs in the Upper Peninsula and Petoskey areas.
He is remembered as a generous person with a good sense of humor. Tom enjoyed time with his family, old movies, and walking. He believed in Jesus and attended Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Petoskey.

Tom is survived by siblings, Roy (Caryl) Montroy of Chicago, Hildie (Terry) Saunders of Escanaba, Marilyn (Jim) Cusenza of Petoskey, Tim (Laurie) Montroy of Auburn Hills, MI; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Bill Cusenza in 2009; and niece, Lindsey Montroy in 2013.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba with Deacon Terry Saunders officiating.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Montroy family.

  1. I’m very saddened by Tommy’s death. I’ve knew and worked with Tom for many years. He would help anyone out that needed it. Tom will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to his family. R.I.P Tom 🙁
