Tammy Lou Hapner

Tammy Lou (Halfaday) Hapner (Waabshki Anakwud Ekwe “White Cloud Woman”) 56, of Wilson, passed away on Thursday afternoon, May 14, 2020 at UP Health System – Marquette.

She was born on April 15, 1964 in Escanaba, Michigan, the daughter of Louis “Louie” Halfaday Sr. and Sally Eichhorn. Tammy was a lifelong resident of the Hannahville community where she also attended school.

On December 20, 2009 Tammy married Jeffery Allen Hapner in Hannahville at their home.

Her past employment incudes Hannahville School and the Island Resort and Casino.

Tammy loved playing bingo, doing crafts, reading, watching paranormal shows and star gazing.  She enjoyed being with her family, traditional pow-wows and being involved in her community.

Among survivors include her husband, Jeff of Wilson; children, Jeremy (Mia) Brunette, Cedric Halfaday, Shawn Paul and Natasha Halfaday all of Hannahville; grandchildren, Colton, Carsyn and Cannon Brunette, Nathan and Sharidyn Halfaday, Tesla and Merrick Paul, Tristan Halfaday, Justice, Grayce, Hank III and Syncere Williams, Leanara Sithamat, Miles and Zakarie Halfaday; siblings, Theresa Halfaday, Barbara Williams, Louis Halfaday Jr., Robin (Toni) Halfaday, Christopher (Helen) Halfaday all of Hannahville; along with numerous nieces and nephews and her previous spouse Norman Paul.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Troy Brunette, Nathan Paul, Zachary Halfaday and baby Paul; and siblings, Julie, Brian and Becky Halfaday.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Hannahville Community Center.  Tammy will be buried in the Hannahville Cemetery.

  1. Words cannot express the feeling and the initial shock of losing someone. My heart my prayers and my words go out to Tammys family and friends. I am so happy I got visit with last summer at the Casino and we talked I knew I could make her laugh. Her journey into the Spirit World will bring her much happiness and show her beauty far beyond what our eyes hold here on Earth* As time passes the pain doesn’t leave we just learn to live with it.
