Stephen Douglas Savard, 55, of Morrisdale, PA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born June 3, 1963 in Gross Pointe, MI, he was the son of the late William Harvey and Arlene Catherine (Sparpani) Savard.
Surviving are his two sons, Kevin M. Savard and wife Brandy, DuBois, Matthew S. Savard and fiancé Cheyenne Rowles and daughter, Raelynn L. Savard, Clearfield; his former wife, Diane Savard, Morrisdale; his sisters, Suzanne Taylor and her husband Dave, Gaylord, MI; Debbie Carne and husband Will, Escanaba, MI; his brother, William Savard and his wife Angela, Harbor Springs, MI; his aunt and uncle Janis and Jerry Guindon, Escanaba MI; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Sharon Savard, and a nephew, John Taylor.
He was a graduate of Escanaba High School, Escanaba, MI and Strayer College, Arlington, VA.
He was a Programmer Analyst at Penn State for over 30 years.
He was a veteran, serving as a Lanse Corporal in the U.S.M.C. from which he received a certificate for an Honorable Discharge, a GCM Award; the Riffle Marksman Badge and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the American Legion Post 437, Philipsburg.
He loved playing cards, having bonfires at his house, coaching baseball teams (MHR Little League, Kylertown Junior League and Allport Senior League), building model cars and houses and he was a diehard Packers fan.
The funeral service and military rites were held in Morrisville, PA.
A Graveside service will take place on Friday, May 17th at 2 p.m. with Rev. Fran DeGroot officiating at Holy Cross Cemetery in Escanaba, MI.
The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Savard family with local arrangements.
