Shannon (Kane) Carlson, 42, of Escanaba, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 11, 2020 following a lengthy illness at her parent’s home in Escanaba.

She was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on June 2, 1977, daughter of Dennis and Colleen (McDonough) Kane. Shannon graduated from Escanaba High School, class of 1995. She received her Associate of Arts from Bay de Noc Community College.

Shannon has worked at several local businesses, with the most recent being Super One Foods and Bill Weissert Insurance Agency.

She was a loving mother who cherished raising and taking care of her daughter, Zadie. She was an avid Packer fan who loved animals, shooting darts and playing on Ernie’s Irish Pub pool league.

Survivors include her daughter, Zadie Carlson; parents, Dennis and Colleen Kane; sisters, Stephanie (Erik) Simonsen of Perkins and Heather (Jeff) Khollman of Escanaba; grandmother Rose Kane of Escanaba; aunts and uncles, Terry and Cindy McDonough of Gladstone, Bernard and Sandy Wiltzius of Gladstone and Nancy McDonough of California; 5 nieces and nephews and numerous cousins; significant other, Charles “CR” Seymour of Escanaba.

Shannon is preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom and Peg McDonough and Robert Kane, uncle Gerald McDonough.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17th from 5-7 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 South 13th St. Escanaba. The funeral service will be at 7p.m. with Rev. Tim Ferguson officiating with a luncheon to follow.

Burial will take place in Gardens of Rest Cemetery in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

  6. Dear Colleen, I am so sorry you have had to say goodbye to your daughter. I was a classmate of yours at Holy Name and I have sons who are close to her age. I can only imagine the sadness you are feeling. Take comfort in the good memories you have made and your precious granddaughter. Shannon is blessed to have you for a Mom and Zadie blessed to have you for a Grandmother. Please accept my sincere condolences as I remember your whole family in my prayers.
