Sandra L. Bennett, 71 of Escanaba, passed away at the home of her daughter on Sunday, October 20, 2019.

Sandra was born in Merrill, WI., on February 25, 1948, daughter of Glenn and Dolores (Hoffman) Schinke. She was raised in Slinger, WI and graduated from Slinger High School.  She moved to the Escanaba area in 1993.

She worked a variety of jobs over the years, but especially enjoyed working at the concession stand for the races.  She loved her time with family and friends.

Sandra had a passion for making crafts, baking and going to the casino.

While residing at Harbor Tower, she took an active role as the president of the Escanaba Housing Commission Board.

Among survivors are her children, Clayton (Paula) Bennett of Slinger, WI and Natalie Clouse of Escanaba; grandchildren, Tiffany, Logan, Rebekah, Alayna and Joshua, ; great grandchildren, Ellianna, Cayden and Kylon; siblings, Shirley Gundrum, Linda (Frank) Heinrich, Terry (Tom) Zimmerman and Kenneth (Lee) Schinke; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Glenn “Butch” Schinke, Jr.

In keeping with Sandra’s wishes, no services will be held.

  2. We are so sad to hear of your passing. We will always remember sandy as a good friend and kind person. We had many good times traveling and camping together with the bikes and without. She was always there to help when you needed her. Rest in peace.

  3. We were so surprised to hear of Sandy’s passing. She was a true friend and a great person to be around. We have many memories of Sandy while in the GWRRA club and afterwards at the Hong Kong Buffet for our get togethers to share memories and great food.. She was always there for anyone that needed her help or support. We will miss her very much, may she RIP. Our condolences go out her her family and friends who will miss her dearly.
