Sandra “Sandy” June LaFleur, 74, passed away early Thursday morning, April 2, 2015 at Christian Park Village in Escanaba.
She was born on May 20, 1940 in Gladstone, daughter of William J. Bruner and June Smith.
Sandy grew up in Gladstone and moved to Escanaba at the age of 15.
On May 23, 1964, Sandy married Robert J. LaFleur at St. Joseph Church in Escanaba. He preceded her in death in 2001.
Sandy was a devoted housewife and worked various part time jobs to help support the family. She enjoyed reading, baking, jigsaw puzzles and visiting with friends. Sandy was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
Among survivors include her three daughters, Jennifer Neumann of Escanaba, Christine LaFleur (Stan Stawarz) of Clifton Park, NY and Lisa LaFleur of Florida; two grandchildren, Trisha Neumann and Christopher Stawarz; brother, William (Sharon) Bruner; and three nieces and nephews, Lana Boudreau, James Bruner and Aaron Bruner. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Lee.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 8th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 5 p.m. with Rev. Rick Courier officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells on Thursday, April 9th at 9:00 a.m.
