Rowena Rose “Row Row” (Nelson) Crewe, 61, Escanaba, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at UP Health System – Marquette.
She was born on March 27, 1954 in Escanaba, daughter of Albert and Catherine (Stone) Nelson. Rowena graduated from Escanaba High School in 1972.
She was a driver for DHS and was a supporter for those that dealt with domestic violence when employed at the Tri County Safe Harbor.
Rowena enjoying doing beadwork, sewing and spending time her family.
Among her survivors include her daughter, Ashley Munroe of Gladstone; special friend and former husband, Rick Reiter of Escanaba; brother, Curt Nelson of Escanaba; four sisters, Harriet Nelson of Escanaba, Loretta Vanne of Manitowac, WI, Stella Johnson and Donna Nelson both of Escanaba; three grandchildren, Catherine Rose Seymour-Munroe, Trez William Munroe and Ashtin Raymond Allen Anderson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Albert Nelson and Brian Nelson; and four sisters, Alberta Simmons, Arlene LeClaire, Dolly Nelson and Mona Destrampe.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 4 p.m. with Pastor David Schaffer and Robert Childers officiating from the Family Life Center in Escanaba.
A meal will follow at the Family Life Center.
