Ronald J. “Ron” Klug

Ronald J. “Ron” Klug, 77, Escanaba, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at his home.

He was born in Escanaba on December 16, 1937, son of the late Paul “Art” and Isabel (Valliere) Klug.

Ron graduated from Escanaba High School in 1957.
On April 11, 1959, Ron married the former Sharon R. Coplan at St. Anne’s Church.

He was a member of the Vintage Tin Car Club and St. Anne’s Church.

Ron loved vintage cars, traveling, and playing cards.

He worked as a paper carrier, road construction laborer, and was employed by Milwaukee Sentinel News Agency, Harnischfeger as a welder for 25 years, and started Klug Painting and Wallpapering in 1982.

Ron served in the Michigan National Guard.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; children, Terri (Richard) Dimock of Waukesha, WI, Edward (Ellen Evensen) Klug of Appleton, WI, and Lisa (Mark) Blau of Rapid River; grandchildren, Nathan Dimock, Bradley Dimock, Jason Klug, Nicole (Jerry Wilke) Klug, Paul (Meghan Herbst) Klug, Kyle (Crystal) Blau, and Eric (Alison Black) Blau; great grandchildren, Molly Klug and Jacob Markowicz; sister, Marlene French of Bradenton, FL; and sister-in-law, Carol (Dennis Peck) Davis of Waukesha, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Laurie Klug; father-in-law, Edward Coplan; mother-in-law, Marie (Breault) Coplan; and brother-in-law, Harve French.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at St. Anne’s Church with Rev. Fran DeGroot officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Klug family.
