Robert A. “Rob” Anderson, 52, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 22, 2019 while working in Moundsville, WV of a massive heart attack.
Rob was born on November 6, 1967, son of Robert N. and Roberta (Sodergren) Anderson in Escanaba. He graduated from Escanaba High School, class of 1985 and attended Bay de Noc Community College.
On October 27, 1990, Rob married Patricia “Patty” Thurber at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Rapid River.
Rob and Patty reside in Dundas, MN where they have raised their two daughters, Alyssa and Courtney. Rob has been involved with the Laborers Union in Minnesota for 17 years and Michael’s Pipeline for 15 years.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle and playing baseball. He was an avid Detroit Lions fan and loved watching the football games. His most treasured time was being with his family and his grandson, Ashton.
Among survivors include his wife, Patty of Dundas, MN; daughters, Alyssa Anderson of Faribault, MN and Courtney Anderson of Carver, MN; grandson, Ashton Watters; parents, Robert and Roberta Anderson of Gladstone; sisters, Kim (Mike) Rabitoy of Escanaba and Traci (Tim) Bretl of Fort Atkinson, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 28th from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jamie Ziminski at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. A meal will immediately follow in the church hall.
