Robert Neil “Buddy” LeDuc, age 89, of 208 S. 13th Street, Escanaba, passed away Monday, December 8th at home after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.
Buddy was born on May 4th, 1925 in Escanaba, son of Wilfred and Exina (Belland) LeDuc. He graduated from Escanaba Area High School in 1943. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the Navy and was a naval shipman during World War II, proudly serving his country in the Philippines and the South Pacific until being honorably discharged in 1946. After returning from the war, he began working for a local trucking company, CW Transport, where he was a driver for 43 years. He also served in the Naval Reserve and was honorably discharged in 1955. He married Anna Mae Kehoe on June 17, 1967 in Escanaba. He retired in 1989 and was a proud resident of Escanaba in his remaining years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Anna Mae and his daughter, Mary (Jeff) Brogley of Northville, Michigan. He was a proud grandfather to his beautiful granddaughter, Sophia Anna, who he adored. He is also survived by one sister, Irene Milkovitch of Escanaba, numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters, Leona McArthey, Marguerite Beauchamp, Delphine Javurek, and Eleanor Cesarz.
In keeping with Buddy’s wishes, no services will be held. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Delta County Cancer Alliance.
