Robert J. “Bob” Otradovec, 62, of Wilson, passed away on Monday, August, 7, 2017 at his home of natural causes.

Bob was born December 1, 1954, in Menominee, son of David and Priscilla (Hertel) Otradovec. He was raised in Carney, graduating from Carney Nadeau High School in 1972 and attended Michigan State University.

On September 28, 1985 he married Donna Jean Klee at St. George Church in Bark River.

He served in the Navy from September 1977 to September of 1980, when he was honorably discharged.

Bob owned and operated his own dairy farm, while volunteering for the Gourley Township Fire Department. He enjoyed cooking and baking, as well as gardening. He loved being outdoors, completing woodwork projects and various crafts. He was an active 4-H leader. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

Bob was very involved with St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church where he was in the choir, volunteered as an usher, lector and a Eucharistic minister. He was very proud to be a member of Bark River Council Knights of Columbus # 13863 Third Degree and past grand Knight and the Escanaba Fourth Degree Assembly #507.

In addition to his wife, Donna, he is survived by his daughter, Casey (Matthew) Ball of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; grandchildren, Jackson and Ethan Ball; siblings, Diane Williams of Lansing, MI, Kathy (Richard) Luther of Indian River, MI, and Jeanne (Doug) Foster of New Zealand; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 3-5:30 PM (EST) at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. The Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 3 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bark River, with Rev. Darryl Pepin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Otradovec family.

Military rites and burial will take place at The Spalding Township Cemetery on Saturday August, 12, 2017 at 10 AM (EST) in Spalding MI.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Otradovec family.

  2. Bob was dear to our hearts with his delightful sense of humor and love for our Lord. We considered him family in the Koinonia Community and had him as our house guest on several occasions. Bob & I loved knowing him and will miss him dearly.
