Richard “Dick” Odgers, 81, Escanaba, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at Bishop Noa Home.

Richard was born on October 11, 1932 in Iron River, the son of the late Arthur and Anne (Dominici) Odgers.

Richard graduated from Iron River High School in 1950. He then attended Northern Michigan University and spent nearly the last 30 years of his career at the Escanaba Ore Docks.

Richard married L. Jean Dalpra on December 3, 1949 in Iron River.

He loved to play golf and spend time with his family.

Richard was a member of the Highland Gold Club, Rotary, and Escanaba Elks Lodge.

Richard is survived by his wife Jean, one daughter; Mary Ann (Buzz) Koehler of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; five sons, Rick (Barb) Odgers of Watseka, IL, Neil Odgers of Lansing, MI, Kevin (Toni) Odgers of Green bay, WI, Damon Odgers of Sheboygan, WI, Scott (Amy) Odgers of Appleton, WI; brother, Rodney Odgers of San Francisco, CA; 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Janie, and grandson, Josh Odgers.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. A service celebrating Richard’s life will be held at 7 pm officiated by Neil Odgers. A luncheon will follow in the funeral home dining area.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at St. Agnes Church in Iron River, MI from 9:30 to 11 a.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church with lunch to follow in the church hall.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Odgers family.
