Patrick “Pat” D. Gallagher, 81, of Escanaba, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at his home of natural causes.

He was born on January 14, 1936 in Escanaba, the son of Daniel J. and Irene (Lammi) Gallagher. Pat graduated from Escanaba High School in 1954. Following high school, he attended University of Michigan, Michigan Tech and graduated from Northern Michigan University.

Pat served in the U.S. Navy. After his time served in the Navy, he began work as a substitute school teacher for Escanaba schools. He later became a factory representative for Engineered Machine Products where he retired.

He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles and St. Joseph and St. Patrick’s Parish. Pat was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and University of Michigan football fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Pat’s family will always remember his kind and giving heart, the smile he always had, his quirky sense of humor and his title as the unofficial photographer at family gatherings. He will be missed by many.

Pat is survived by his sister, Connie Baldwin of Cedarville, MI; brother-in-law, Wayne Boucher of Katy, Texas; uncle, Francis Gallagher of Escanaba, MI and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Pat was also preceded in death by his sister, Donna (Gallagher) Boucher; brother-in-law, Paul Baldwin, aunts, uncles and the love of his life, Barb Rosinski.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28th from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Eric Olson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Gallagher family.
