Nadine Gouin, 89, 1012 1st Ave N., Escanaba, passed away on Monday evening, March 7, 2016 at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born on April 5, 1926 in Escanaba, daughter to William and Anna (Moreau) Nedeau. Nadine attended school in Isabella.
The former Nadine Nedeau married Edward Gouin on October 7, 1943 at St. Anne’s Parish in Isabella, MI. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2006.
Nadine was a member of St. Thomas Parish, St. Thomas Guild and the Lady of Fatima Circle at St. Thomas in Escanaba.
She enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino.
Nadine was survived by her children, Eddie Jr. (Carolyn) Gouin of South Milwaukee, WI, Bill (Vivian) Gouin, Dan (Pam) Gouin, Mary Nantelle, Christopher Gouin all of Escanaba and Tony (Donna) Gouin of Gladstone; grandchildren, Vicki (John) Chappel, Robert (Tricia) Gouin, Craig (Cheryl Irving) Gouin, Nina (Dan) Nelson, Amanda (Scott) Harpt, Andrea (Dave) Johnson, Beth Nantelle, Nicole Nantelle, Christopher Smith-Gouin, Trevor Gouin and Taylor Gouin; step grandchildren, Kelly (Todd) Rickel and Hans Nelson; great grandchildren, Noelle Chappel, Jake and Chad Gouin, Molly Irving, Allison, Gabe, and Eli Gouin, Alexia and Quinn Nelson, Jackson, Ava and Addison Harpt, Sofia Johnson, and Aliyah Tedford; step great grandchildren, Jill, McKinsey, Cadence and Analise Rickel; sister, Sally (David) Henry of Isabella, MI; and brothers, Larry (Sandy) Nedeau of Rapid River and David (Lynda) Nedeau of Isabella, MI; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nadine was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Gouin; brother, Richard “Dickie” Nedeau; and sisters, Mary Jane Pilon and Patsy Graham.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 12th from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 noon at St. Thomas Church with Rev. Rick Courier officiating. A meal will follow in the church hall.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Delta Animal Shelter or the Delta County Cancer Alliance in Nadine’s name. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
