MaryAnne (Guenette) Vrancic, 56, of Escanaba, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at The Lighthouse at Ishpeming Health & Rehabilitation.

She was born in Escanaba on March 27, 1960, the daughter of Oscar and Lorraine (St. Ogne) Guenette. MaryAnne graduated from Bark River High School in 1979. After high school, she attended Bay College where she graduated with her LPN in 1984.

MaryAnne retired from Bishop Noa Home after working over 20 years.

On, May 25, 1985, MaryAnne married John Vrancic at Sacred Heart Church in Schaffer.

MaryAnne enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, gardening and especially loved traveling to the Mackinac Bridge, downstate to Southfield to visit family and to the Copper Country. She was also an avid Lions fan, especially in her later years.

She is survived by her husband, John Vrancic of Escanaba; sister, Joyce Guenette of Escanaba; aunts Elaine Kolliker, Noella Makosky, and Theresa (John) McDonough; uncle Jerry (MaryLou) Guenette; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Richard Allen Guenette.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25th, from 9 – 10:30 a.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Anne’s Church at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Fran DeGroot. A luncheon will follow in church hall.

Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Schaffer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to assist with expenses.

The family would like to thank Dr. Karen McCormick and the nursing staff at OSF St. Francis Hospital, Dr. Edwards and the nursing staff at UP Health Systems in Marquette and the nurses, aides and staff at the Lighthouse at Ishpeming Health & Rehabilitation.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Vrancic family.
