Mary Rose (Rudden) Hubert

Mary Rose “Rosie” (Rudden) Hubert, 63, of Gladstone, passed away on November 2, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.

She was born on October 19, 1951 in Escanaba, daughter of Patrick W. and Theresa M. (Viau) Rudden. Mary attended St. Thomas Grade School and graduated from Holy Name High School in 1970. She attended Bay College.

Mary worked for Terrace Bay Inn, Ramada Inn and was the manger for Super Door/VanDrese Construction.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Mary was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing, crafts, traveling and camping.

Among survivors include her mother, Theresa M. (Viau) Rudden of Escanaba; children, Becky (Hubert) Curtin of Grand Blanc, MI and Nicole Hubert (Daniel Bishop) of Erie, PA, and James P. (Cindy Hornick) Hubert of Bark River; companion, Vern VanDrese; grandchildren, Andrea Hubert, Alex Curtin, Timothy Curtin, Ashlee Hubert and Daniel Bishop; sisters, Kathy (Bob) Shriber of Bark River, Joan (Charlie) Edwards of Punta Gorda, FL, Ann Larson of Escanaba, and Christine (Steve) Harris of Iron Mountain; brothers, Ronald (Mary) Rudden of Fallon, NV, Patrick “Emmette” (Laurie Rodgers) Rudden,, Dennis Rudden, and Dave (Sharon) Rudden all of Escanaba, and Mark (Lori) Rudden of Bark River; and several nieces, nephews and cousin.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Patrick and brother, Michael Rudden.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 7th from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral mass will follow at 5 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church with Rev. Rick Courier officiating. A luncheon will follow services in the church hall.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Rudden and Hubert families.

  5. Vern: I was so very sorry to hear about Mary’s passing. She was so very nice and friendly. I suffered the loss of my companion a little over a year ago, and know all to well how difficult this is. We don’t want them gone, but we don’t want them to suffer any more either. God bless you Vern and her family in your time of need. My very deepest condolences to all of you.

  10. my deepest sympathies to the entire Rudden family. To Mary children, your mom was a great lady. I worked with her, Joan and Kathy at the Ramada. Hard working, fun loving is what comes to mind when I think about Mary besides being one of the best waitress I’ve ever known. Always smiling and the customers all loved her. I will be out of town on the day of her service. I will keep the family in my thoughts and prayers. May God give Mary a beautiful home in his kingdom.   12. Dear Vern – we were so sorry to learn of Mary’s death. Sometimes there are just no words to say those things that are deepest in our hearts. We arrived here in Texas a week ago. Our address is 400 E. 18th Street – Lot #202- Weslaco, Texas 78596 – Again, our deepest sympathy for your loss.
