Mary Jane Pilon, 85, Escanaba, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.

She was born in Nahma on December 5, 1929, daughter of the late William M. and Anna C. (Morreau) Nedeau. Mary attended school in Nahma.

She was raised in Isabella until she married William H. Pilon on November 30, 1946 in Isabella and they moved to Escanaba in 1946.
Mary was a passionate artist. She loved arts and crafts, growing flowers, and trips to the casino.

She was a member of St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church and a member of the Alter Society. She was also active in the Nahma Historical Society.

Mary is survived by daughters, Susanna “Sue” Pendergraft of Escanaba, Deborah (Neil) Martinson of St. Augustine, FL, and Jill (Todd) Calouette of Kipling; sisters, Nadine Gouin of Escanaba and Sally (David) Henry of Isabella; brothers, David (Lynda) Nedeau of Isabella and Larry (Sandy) Nedeau of Rapid River; grandchildren, Tammy Pedergraft of Escanaba, Scott (Tricia) Pendergraft of Ford River, Erik Martinson of St. Augustine, FL, Heather Calouette of Gladstone and Cole Calouette of Kipling; great grandchildren, Abigail Pendergraft of Royal Oak, MI, Scott, Noah, and Brooklyn of Ford River, and Trace and Skylar Martinson of St. Augustine, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William; brother, John Richard Nedeau; sister, Patricia Graham; and son in law, Jim Pendergraft.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 2 to 4:30 pm at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 5 pm at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church with Rev. Eric Olson officiating. A meal will follow in the church hall.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Pilon family.
