Marion B. Sodergren, 80, formerly of Bark River, passed away on Tuesday evening, April 28, 2020 at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba.

She was born on May 31, 1939 in Escanaba, daughter of Leo and Gertrude (Verhaghen) King.  Marion was raised in Flat Rock and attended Holy Name High School.  Marion was a lifelong resident of this area.

On November 26, 1960, the former Marion King married Lloyd Sodergren, Jr.  Together they had four children and she was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker.

In her younger years, she worked at St. Francis Hospital in housekeeping.  While raising their family, she stayed busy with her children but later in life assisted with senior care living.

Marion enjoying playing bingo, talking on the phone with friends. and listening to her son’s band practice in the garage.

She was a member of Holy Family Church in Flat Rock.

Among survivors include her two children, Laurie (Leon) O’Neal of Skiatook, OK and Brian (Bridie) Sodergren of Bark River, MI; grandchildren, Sabrina Lindwall, Amanda Hovorka, Molly (Joshua) Montgomery, Stephanie Sodergren, Alix Micheau, Brandin Sodergren, Jorden (Maddison) Sodergren, Robert (Stormie) Alwood, Holly Alwood, Justin (Bridget) Alwood and Joshua (Laura) Alwood; 18 great grandchildren; siblings, Randy (Lori) King, Sandy King, Glenn (Ann) King, Marcia (Herb) Iverson, John Kutches, Marlene Valley and Carolyn (Steve) Perry; sister in law, Catherine King and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to Marion’s parents and husband, Lloyd; she was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Lloyd; daughter, Lisa Juchemich; step father, Joseph Kutches; brothers, Lester King and Robert King; and brothers in law, Robert Valley and Tom McEvoy.

Services will be held for relatives and friends at a later date which will be announced.

Burial will take place in Escanaba Twp. Cemetery in Flat Rock.
