Marilyn F. Smith, 75, of Escanaba, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017, at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
She was born in Spalding on July 20, 1941, the daughter of Stanley and Lillian (Poquette) McInnis. Marilyn graduated from Holy Name High School in 1959. After high school, she attended Cloverland Business College.
Marilyn worked at OSF St. Francis as a mail and copy room clerk for 35 years.
She enjoyed motorcycle riding, sewing, cooking, collecting elephants and spending time with her family.
On, September 4, 1992, Marilyn married Ronald Smith in Escanaba.
She is survived by husband, Ronald of Escanaba, MI; children, Jon (Amy) Liss of Escanaba, MI, Jim (Julie) Liss of Bark River, MI; step children, Debby (Brian) LaVigne of Escanaba, MI and Missy Smith of Escanaba; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Gaynell Corriveau of Escanaba; many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; children, Joe and Jerry Liss; brother, Don McInnis; and grandson, Jared Lantagne.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3rd, from 4 – 6 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. Services to celebrate the life of Marilyn will follow at Crawford Funeral Home at 6 p.m. officiated by Rev. Fran DeGroot. A luncheon will follow services.
Entombment will take place in Gardens of Rest Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward Delta County Cancer Alliance or Delta County Animal Shelter.
The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Smith family.
