Marilyn Ann Poupore, 70, of Spalding, passed away peacefully into eternal life at her home on May 23, 2019 with her family by her side. She had fought a courageous short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Marilyn was born on May 4, 1949 in Escanaba Mi., the daughter of the late Earl and Gladys (Richie) St. John Sr. She graduated from Powers-Spalding High School in 1967.

On July 6, 1968, Marilyn married the love of her life Michael Poupore. They have been married for 50 beautiful years.

Marilyn was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. Especially her grandchildren. She made every celebration perfect!

Marilyn taught CCD for many years at St. John Neuman Catholic Church in Spalding and was also a member of the St. Anne Society. In most recent years her passion was as a foster grandparent at North Central Elementary in Hermansville. She sure loved all the kids and teachers she worked with.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; daughters, Michaela Sweig (Dan) of Quinnesec, MI and Misty (Jesse) Anderla of Yokota, Japan; grandchildren, Travis Poupore (Natalie) of DePere, WI., Nicholas Sweig of Chicago, IL., Christopher Sweig of Quinnesec, MI., Matty Kleiman of Norway, MI., Ashton Pelletier, Tristan and Bryton Anderla of Yokota, Japan; siblings, Nancy Fazer of Powers, MI., Susan Brierley (Ben) Creston City, Fl., Terry St. John (Marilyn) of Spalding, MI.; all her beloved brothers and sisters in law; and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn will be sadly missed by her entire family who loved her so dearly and will be remembered by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Marlene Poupore (They married brothers) and brother, Earl St. John Jr.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 3rd at St. John Neuman Church in Spalding from 2 – 5 p.m. (CST). The St. Anne’s Society will recite the rosary at 4:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 5 p.m. with Rev. Jacek Wtyklo, and Revs. Emmett Norden and Michael Vichich concelebrating.

  1. I am very sorry to hear that Marilyn is no longer on this earth. She made it a better place. Marilyn was always very kind, and she put a smile on my face the few times I saw her after graduation. Rest In Peace beautiful soul.
