Marcus Wayne Messersmith, 38, Kaukauna, WI, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 8, 2017.
He was born on March 30, 1979 in Amery, WI to Leslie and Nancy (Schultz) Messersmith. When Marcus was four years old, the family decided to move to Wilson, MI in the Upper Peninsula. There he spent his childhood living on the family dairy farm. Marcus attended the Wilson Junior Academy through 10th grade and then attended Wisconsin Academy in Columbus, WI where he graduated in 1998.
While attending school in Columbus, Marcus met the love of his life, Kristy Chrism and they were married on October 10, 2009 in Milton, WI. Marcus and Kristy made their home in Kaukauna, WI and were members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Green Bay, WI.
Marcus was a devoted husband, loving son, wonderful brother and proud uncle. Marcus loved spending time with friends and family and his niece and nephews held a special place in his heart. They all loved him so much and will miss him greatly.
Marcus was a giving man with a big heart sharing many smiles and his contagious laugh with everyone. When the opportunity arose he was the first to volunteer to help others. Marcus enjoyed playing softball and golfing with his friends and family and was also a diehard Lion’s fan. Campmeeting help at Camp Wakonda in Oxford, WI was the highlight of his summer for many years, attending ever since he was a small child. While attending through the years Marcus looked forward to playing a good game of softball with his dad, brother, sister, cousins, uncles and his many friends, and especially with his wife, Kristy.
Marcus is survived by his wife, Kristy; parents, Leslie and Nancy; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda and Frank Chism; sister, Jamie (Glen) Pearson; brother, Jason (Melanie) Messersmith; brothers-in-law, Scott and Lee (Lesa) Chism; niece and nephews, Blaine, Tanner and Sawyer Pearson, Lucia, Gordon, Moesly and Teddy Messersmith; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Friends may attend services at the Green Bay Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1414 Shawano Avenue on Tuesday, June 13th. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. CST with the funeral service to be follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. William Ochs and Rev. Carlos Anchetta officiating. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
