M. Sarah Cline, 91, 2415 5th Ave S., Escanaba, passed away on Friday morning, October 3, 2014 at Christian Park Healthcare Center.
She was born on February 24, 1923 in Escanaba, daughter to John B. and Sylvia (Duchaine) DeGrand. Sarah attended St. Anne’s Grade School and Escanaba High School.
Sarah worked during World War II as a Rosie the Riveter.
On August 29, 1945 Sarah married Frank C. Cline in Escanaba. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1996.
She enjoyed playing cards, attending church activities, and crocheting.
Among survivors include a son, Jim (Candice) Cline of Lighthouse Point, FL; daughter, Carol (Ormal) Posenke of Escanaba; daughter in law, Frances Cline of Escanaba; five grandchildren, Dustin Cline, Renee (Jeff) Frappier, Sheri McCullough, Kimberly (Rodney) Popour, and Mike Posenke; ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; brother, Arthur (Jean) DeGrand of Escanaba; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald; grandson, Robert Posenke; brother, George DeGrand; and sister, Bernice DuPont.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 6th from 3 to 4 p.m. at St. Anne’s Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Fran DeGroot officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
