Louis H. Nolde

Louis H. “Louie” Nolde, 79, 4885 I Road, Bark River (Hyde), passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility.

He was born on April 3, 1935 in Powers, son of John and Gladys (King) Nolde. Louie was raised in Powers and the Riverland area and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1953.

On September 3, 1955, Louis married Jean B. Hereau at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock. She preceded him in death on Jun 25, 2011.

Louie was employed with Harnischfeger as a welder for 33 years until their closure. He later was a truck driver for Bichler Gravel and Concrete, retiring in 1998.

He was a member of the Highland Golf Course and enjoyed golfing and hunting. He was an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan and loved watching baseball and also coached little league teams years ago. Louie enjoyed playing cards and often played “Smear” at Holy Family Church.

Louie is survived by his children, Laurie (Greg) Gardner of Escanaba, Tammy (Roger) Beauchamp of Flat Rock, Mike (Mary Kay) Nolde, Pat (Cindy) Nolde, Joe (Deb) Nolde all of Escanaba, Don (Rhonda) Nolde of Manawa, WI and Tracy (Paul) Spaulding of Pittsburg, PA; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two brothers, Leo Nolde of Escanaba and Richard “Dick” (Barb) Nolde of Ohio.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jean; Louie was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty, Anna, and June; and brother, Raymond.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 5th from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. Parish prayers will be at 4 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock with Rev. John Longbucco officiating. A meal will follow in the church hall.

Burial will be in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Nolde family.
