Lori A. Clark, 49, Cornell, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at her home of natural causes.

She was born in Escanaba on January 15, 1966, the daughter of Marvin J. and Donna (VanDrese) Nelson.

Lori graduated from Escanaba High School in 1984.

On September 27, 2003, she married Charles “Chuck” Clark at Christ the King Lutheran Church.

Lori took great pride in taking care of her family and traveling to many racing events with her son, Kyle. She was an avid fundraiser for organizations including: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and American Diabetes Association Tour-the-Cure.

She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.

Lori is survived by her husband, Chuck; daughter, Jennifer (Brandon) Rogers of Escanaba; sons, Nicholas “Nick” (Heidi Ives) Sundberg of Rapid River, Kyle Sundberg of Cornell; mother, Donna Nelson of Cornell; brothers, Brian (Maureen) Nelson and David (Christy) Nelson, both of Cornell; grandfather, Gilbert VanDrese of Wells; grandchildren, Carter Dubord and Parker Rogers; father in law, Tony Clark; sister in law, Rose (Dana) Cayer of Nebraska; brothers in law, Tom Clark and Steve (Sara) Clark, both of Escanaba; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin “Marv” Nelson in 2014; son, Paul Sundberg in 2008; maternal grandmother, Lorraine VanDrese; paternal grandparents, Adolph and Minnie Nelson; and mother in law, Elsie Clark.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church with Pastor Chris Johnson officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.

Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Clark family.

  2. Charlie, I’m so sorry to hear about Lori. I just read about it on my phone. I’m in Florida til the end of the month. Last time I saw you at Drs Park she must have been really ill. Once again I’m so sorry.
