Laurie J. “Twig” Kleiman, 58, Escanaba, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at UP Health System- Marquette.

She was born in Escanaba on May 2, 1957, daughter of Theodore and Kathleen (Woolcock) Kleiman.

Laurie attended Holy Name Catholic Grade School and graduated from Escanaba High School. She later and attended classes at Bay de Noc Community College.

She enjoyed shopping and going to rummage sales. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Laurie was a member of Delta Drop in AA and enjoyed attending their activities.

She is survived by her daughter, Genevieve (Ryan Metzger) Corbett of Escanaba; brother, Mark “Toby” (Beth) Kleiman; sisters, Sue (Ed) Curry and Jeri (Travis) Fredrickson; step mother, Evelyn Kleiman; grandchildren, Aviana and Azhanae; soon to be grandchild, Andre Metzger; and many nieces and nephews.

Laurie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Barb Farley.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Sue Cousineau officiating.

A meal will follow the service in the lounge of the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

The Crawford Funeral Home is assisting the Kleiman family.

  1. To all of Laurie’s family,, we are so very sorry to hear about her passing.. I worked with here at Family Inn (along with Barb) for quite a while. They were both very kind and wonderful girls.Always had a good time with each of them and a lot of laughs. Cherish all of your memories throughout the years. May God Bless all of you.Prayers…
