Laurie J. DuBord

Laurie Jean DuBord, 63, passed away on Monday, January 9th, 2017, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI.

She was born in Escanaba on April 22nd, 1953, the daughter of Alfred and Jeannette (Cormier) LaCrosse. Laurie graduated from Holy Name High School in 1971 and completed 2 years at Bay de Noc Community College.

On, September 15th, 1973, Laurie married Michael DuBord at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba, MI.

Laurie was a member of St. Joseph St. Patrick’s Parish, her Catholic faith was very important to her. She enjoyed time spent with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by husband, Michael “Mike” DuBord; daughters, Marie (Brandon) Clairmont of Green Bay, WI, Angela (Nicolas) Nastoff of Escanaba, MI; sons, Brad (Jamie) DuBord of Green Bay, WI, Brian (Miki) DuBord, Air Force, Tyler DuBord of Escanaba, MI, Travis DuBord of Escanaba, MI, Colin DuBord of Escanaba, MI, Christopher DuBord of Escanaba, MI; grandchildren, Nicholas, Sophia, Helena, Austin, Jerek, Rena, Chloe, and Cole DuBord, Sawyer and Maximus Clairmont, and Nora and Mya Nastoff; siblings, Diane Bryla of Gladstone, MI, Patti Holden of Escanaba, MI, Brian (Margaret) LaCrosse of Perkins, MI and Jeannie (Jim) Johnson of Escanaba, MI; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Laurie was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Karen LaCrosse.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16th, from 1 – 4 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. There will be an opportunity for friends and family to share memories to conclude the visitation at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Church at 5 p.m. with Rev. Eric Olson officiating. A meal will follow in the church hall.

Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the DuBord family.

  6. I am so sorry to hear about Laurie. She was a wonderful friend for almost 60 years! We went to kidnergarton, grade school and high school together. We shared many good times. I spent several hours with Laurie in December. She literally talked for 5 hours about all of her kids and grandkids. Obviously, all of you meant the world to her! I am sure you feel such a sense of loss. Although I am unable to attend the wake and funeral, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you!
