Kim Marie Ball

Kim Marie Ball, 60, 14060 DePas Lane 34.75 Rd, Wilson, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born on June 9, 1955 in Escanaba, daughter to Leonard and Gloria (Chartier) Lanaville. Kim was raised in Wilson and attended the Wilson Seventh Day Junior Academy and graduated from Carney in 1973.

On July 1, 1973, Kim married Gregory Lee Ball at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Wilson.

Kim was employed with Robinson Furniture Factory until their closure and then worked in the shipping department at VanAire for eight years. In August of 2014, Kim retired as a result of her health issues.

She enjoyed scrapbooking, singing with her sisters and loved animals.

Kim was a member of the Wilson Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by her husband Greg of Wilson; son, Derek (Jen) Ball of Tennessee; daughter, Julie (Mike) Sanfilippo; her father, Leonard (Kay) Lanaville of Silver Wood, MI; mother, Gloria Lanaville of Wilson; three sisters, Beverly (Gary) Berger of Carney, Debbie (Mike) Groleau of Wilson and Sherry (Douglas) Vanderventer of Poynette, WI; two brothers, Alan (Sharon) Lanaville of Wilson and Don (Debbie) Lanaville of Spokane, WA; five grandchildren, Summer and Kimberly Sanfilippo and Brenden, Carson and Sophie Ball; and many nieces and nephews.

Kim was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Kellogg.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, August 2nd from 4 to 5 p.m. (EST) at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Wilson. The memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Tony Ludwig officiating. A meal will follow at the Seventh Day Adventist Academy.

Burial will be in the Wilson Seventh Day Adventist Church Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Ball family.

    I am so very saddened to hear of Kim’s death. Even though I lost contact with her, I thought of her so very often. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever known and she was an awesome room mate at academy. I am so thankful that we have the promise of reuniting with her again in the earth made new. May God give you peace and comfort during this time.
