Kenneth T. “Chief” Tousignant, 81, Escanaba, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at his home.

He was born in Escanaba on September 24, 1933, to the late Thomas and Charlotte (Seymour) Tousignant.

Ken graduated from Bark River High School in 1951.

Ken served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from May 29, 1953 until he was honorably discharged on May 28, 1956. He received the National Defense Service Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.

He worked as an engineer for Chicago and Northwestern Railroad.
Ken loved to spend time with family and at camp, four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, and vacationing in Texas.

He was a member of St. Anne’s Church, a life member of Escanaba Elks Lodge 354, AMVETS, Gladstone American Legion, and Escanaba Eagles Aerie 1088.

Ken is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Pam) Tousignant of Escanaba and Jim Tousignant of Blaine, MN; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bobby Tousignant; sisters, Charlene Moe and Yvonne Whittle; and great granddaughter, Zyla.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6 p.m. at St. Anne’s Church with Rev. Fran DeGroot officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Schaffer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anne’s Church Boiler Fund.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Tousignant family.

  2. sorry to hear of chief passing,he was one heck of a person every time I sawhim he always had a big smile ,he will be missed for sure.

  3. We will always miss you and the laughter you created. Our trips to Michigan will never be the same. Our heartfelt condolences to Kenny, Jimmy and families.
