Kathleen L. “Kathy” Lancour, 71, of Escanaba, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, at OSF St. Francis Hospital.

Kathy was born on November 17, 1946, daughter of Theodore and Ethel (Gauthier) Servant. She was raised in Escanaba and graduated from Holy Name High School in 1964.

In 1965 Kathy became a beautician after attending Cosmetology School in Green Bay. She was a beautician for 35 years working at Beautyland and the Uppercut before opening a salon in her own home.

On February 10, 1968, Kathy married the love of her life, Leroy Lancour at St. Joseph’s Church in Escanaba. He preceded her in death on March 10, 2003.

Kathy loved to read, play bridge and the challenge of playing any game that was presented to her. She always played to win. She enjoyed music and singing and had a song for everyone and every occasion. She was a kind spirit known to take care of others. Being with her family was the most important thing to her, especially her grandchildren. She was a woman of deep faith.

She was a member of St. Anne’s Church and many Bridge clubs in Escanaba.

Among survivors are her children, LeeAnne (Ross) Strand of Escanaba, Julia (Scott) Robak of Suamico, WI, and Jim (Heather) Lancour of Seale, AL; grandchildren, Rachael, Sam and Zeke Strand, Jesse and Joshua Robak, Dalton and Landon Lancour; great granddaughter, Graysen Strand; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and husband, Leroy; she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joanne Desilets, Theodore Servant, Judy Barton and Leonard Servant; infant sister, Mary Carol Servant; and grandson, Dakota Lancour.

Visitation will be Friday, January 12, 2018, from 3-5 p.m. at St. Anne’s Church in Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 5 p.m. with Rev. Fran DeGroot officiating. A meal will follow in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Salvation Army or St. Anne’s Church for Masses to be said in Kathleen and Leroy’s name.

Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery spring 2018.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Lancour family.

  2. I have many fond memories of Kathy from high school. We worked together on our 25th class reunion. She was a great beautician and did my hair for many years after high school. Rest in peace, Kathy
