Joyce M. Guenette

Joyce M. Guenette, 55, of Escanaba, passed away at her home unexpectedly on Thursday, September 28, 2017 of natural causes.

She was born in Escanaba on October 8, 1961, daughter of Oscar and Lorraine (St. Onge) Guenette. She was raised in Schaffer, graduating from Bark River High School in 1980. She moved to Escanaba in 2000.

Joyce received her nursing certificate from Northern Menominee Community Schools in 1984. She worked for Northwoods and Christian Park Center, retiring in 2002.

Joyce loved to travel, watch TV especially The Voice, Ninja Warriors and Lawrence Welk. She always enjoyed going to parades, watching fireworks, and attending the U.P. State Fair. She was an avid Detroit Lions fan.

She was a member of St. Anne’s Church.

Joyce was a very kind, gentle, prayerful and caring person. She often lit a candle and prayed for all the needs of her loved ones.

She is survived by her brother in law, John Vrancic; aunts, Elaine Kolliker, Noella Makosky, and Theresa (John) McDonald; uncle, Jerry (Mary Lou) Guenette, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Richard Guenette and Mary Anne Vrancic.

The family of Joyce Guenette will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, October 5th at 3:30 p.m. until The Mass of Christian Burial at 4 p.m. at St. Anne’s Church. A meal will follow in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Joyce’s family c/o John Vrancic, to assist with funeral expenses.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Guenette family.

  1. To Joyce’s family, I graduated with Joyce and wanted to say she was one of the sweetest most caring people I have ever known. I will miss her. I was unable to attend the funeral as I am temporarily out of the state. Love you Joyce!

  2. God took another angel home , she was a true friend of mine, we had good times together, traveling ,dancing ,and even rented together for awhile , and some sad, but we never forgot each other , rest my friend with your family now in heaven ,you are a angel Joyce ,love you
