Joseph W. “Joe” King, 57, 4476 D Road, Bark River, passed away on December 16, 2014 at his home.
He was born on January 16, 1957 in Marquette, son of James B. and Ruth J. (Spencer) King. Joe was raised in Marquette and graduated from Marquette High School in 1975 and attended DJ Jacobetti Vocational Institute.
Joe was employed at Mike’s Auto Body in Gwinn when he resided in Gwinn.
He resided in Bark River for the past 11 years and was employed with the Island Resort and Casino in custodial maintenance.
Joe enjoyed watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Red Wings.
Among survivors include his sisters, Kathleen “Kathy” Meni of Gwinn; Sandra Kaiser of Marquette, Orlene (Brent) Riley of Negaunee and Peggy (Pat) Brassard of Gwinn; and three brothers, James A. (Jackie Almy) King of Gwinn; Peter (Betty) King of Republic and John (Annie) King of Marquette; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers in law, Tom Meni and Peter Kaiser; and nephew, John Meni.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 3rd from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canale Funeral Home in Gwinn. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Allen Mott from St. Anthony Church officiating.
