Joseph M Skrobiak

Joseph M. “Joey” Skrobiak, 72, of Daggett, passed away of an apparent heart attack on Monday, July 10, 2017.

He was born on December 13, 1944 in Escanaba, son of Michael and Veronica (Holoquist) Skrobiak. Joe was raised in Bark River and graduated from Bark River Harris High School.

In 1967, Joe began his career as a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways, retiring on October of 1998.

Joe enjoyed golf, helping others, spending time with his family, supporting the local establishments and enjoying visits with the locals. He was very active in AA and was a proud Democrat.

He was elected and was currently a Menominee County Road Commissioner.

Among survivors include his children, Sheri (Donald) Schroeder of Waterford, WI. and Scott (Becky) Skrobiak of Carney, MI; siblings, Linda Walker and Leonard Skrobiak; grandchildren, Austin M. Schroeder, Kaitlyn Kirby, Jessica Zawatzke, Mikayla (Jacob) Cichanowicz, Dalton Skrobiak and Christopher Dupont; two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by parents and sister, Carol Gearhart.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 14th from 1-4 p.m. (EDT) at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. The funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with Deacon Mike LeBeau officiating.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Skrobiak family.

  4. Joe was my customer while I owned Mary’s Place restaurant in Beecher, WI and I really enjoyed visiting with him over the years. He was a good man, and I send my sympathies to the family. I saw him as recently as last Friday when we were out for fish in Carney–he will be missed.
