John Allen Rudenberg

John Allen Rudenberg, 52, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 25, 2020 at his home in Escanaba with his family surrounding him after battling cancer.

He was born on December 3, 1967 in Bloomington, MN, son of Francis A. and Patricia A. (Lindquist) Rudenberg. John was raised in Bloomington, MN and Evensville, IN. His family moved to Gladstone where he graduated from Gladstone High School in 1986.  He then attended Michigan Tech University followed by Bay de Noc Community College. While he was going to Michigan Tech he worked as a DJ at Classmates Bar.  He also worked as a mechanic for Riverside Auto and then Verso for over 15 years in the craft mill.

On June 15, 1996 John married Kathleen J. Holmes in Gladstone.

John served in the National Guard.

He was a member of the Eagles Club.

John was an outdoor enthusiast enjoying hunting, fishing and camping with his family.

Among survivors include his wife, Kathy; children, Jonathon Kolaske of Escanaba, Jesseca Kolaske of Escanaba, Nicole (Gabe) Trottier of Perkins and Halley Rudenberg of Escanaba; grandchildren, Dalton Kolaske, Dominic Kolaske, Frankie Jean Kolaske, Zander Teeple, Lorenzo Teeple, Freyja Trottier; siblings, Ed (Claudia) Rudenberg, Sharon Skjolaas, Kathy Larson, Connie (Chuck) Freyberger, Debbie Gray; and many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 29th from 3-5 at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba with the funeral service to follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Tony Morrison officiating.  At the conclusion of the service a luncheon will take place at the Eagles Club.

Burial will be at Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
