Jesse L. Bingham

Jesse L. Bingham, 84, Nahma, passed away on Friday morning, January 22, 2016 at UP Health Systems- Marquette.

He was born on June 5, 1931 in Nahma, son of Leon and Lucy (Emmons) Bingham. Jesse was raised in Nahma and attended F.W. Good School.

He moved to Milwaukee for work before returning to the U.P. in 1950.

On September 15, 1950, Jesse married Ruth “Pat” Baldwin in Escanaba.

Jesse traveled across Michigan working bridge construction and then was employed for Upper Lakes Coal in Gladstone.

He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, reading, collecting model cars, and collecting pictures of “old” Nahma. Jesse delivered commodities and enjoyed visiting with the many people on his route.

Jesse was a member of New Life Assembly of God, Nahma Boat Club and Nahma Historical Society.

Among survivors include his wife, Ruth “Pat” Bingham of Nahma; children, Richard of DuBois, Wyoming, Lester (Mary) of Wilson, Stacy (Gisele) and Brian (Tammy) both of Escanaba; seven grandchildren, Kim, Christopher, Jessica, Jon, Sara, James and Angela; several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Harley Bingham, Isabelle Algen, Doris Wandahsega, Clara Mae Constantino, and Leona Bingham; and his best friend and brother in law, Eli Constantino.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Jason Janich officiating.

Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Bingham family.

  8. Will miss you. My prayers go out to the family I remember him taking us swimming in the 60 chev & bowls of ice cream & getting yelled at . I always had alot of respect for you my friend . Stacy did it !! God bless
