Jim Krause, 78, Escanaba, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 16, 2014.

He was born on November 15, 1935 in Green Bay, WI to Herbert and Eleanor (Heim) Krause.

He shared 58 wonderful years with Shirley (Francois) Krause whom he married on October 15, 1955 in Green Bay, WI.

Jim served his country in the National Guard and owned UP Foods and Jim’s Lock Service until his retirement.

Jim always looked forward to 4 p.m. Happy Hour at The Eagles Club in Escanaba, MI. He also enjoyed playing the lottery and hoping for the “big win.” He will be missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; five children, Debbie (Mark) Vickman of Green Bay, Dale Krause of De Pere, Denise Krause of De Pere, Dawn Krause of De Pere, Dean Krause of Escanaba; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Krause and Bob Krause; two sisters, Lou Brienen and Ruth Johnson, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dick Krause.

As per Jim’s wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service.

    I have so many great memories of the times that we spent together – trout fishing in northern Wisconsin, camping and fishing in Wawa-Canada, motor homing in Alaska, and the weekend trip to Mackinaw Island. I am glad we got to spend the time together. I will always miss you!
