James F. Londo

James “Jim or Jimmer” F. Londo, 69, 4145 Deerfield T Lane, Rapid River (Stonington Peninsula), passed away Sunday afternoon, May 8, 2016 at his home.

He was born on October 22, 1946 in Marquette, son of Raymond and Margaret (Oberg) Londo. Jim was raised in Ontonagon and graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1964. He later earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education, majoring in Industrial Arts from Northern Michigan University. While in high school and college, Jim was very active with basketball, baseball and football.

Jim began his teaching career in 1969 in Appleton, WI and then graduated with a Masters in Mathematics in 1974 from Kansas State University. He taught at Stephenson School until 1981 and later the same year started JL Basement Water Control.

On July 5, 2002, Jim married Ann E. Schulze at their home on the Stonington Peninsula.

Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loves fishing and hunting. He spent his summers up in Au Train at Kimar’s Resort where he had his own cabin and fished for lake trout on the big Superior. He had a great love for his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed music and gardening. Jim was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and he loved to play cards and cribbage with his friends.

Jim was of Catholic faith.

Among survivors include his wife, Ann of Rapid River; two daughters, Deborah (Pat) St. John and Jacquie (Keith) Jones all of Escanaba; grandchildren, Brad (Holly) Wagner, Kevin Wagner, Anna Wagner, Jesse Wagner, Andrew St. John, Sara Wagner, Kaylah Wagner, Ryan St. John, Rachael St. John, Bernice Jones, Tobin Wagner, Jackson Wagner, Hannah Jones and Jon Jones; three great grandchildren, Lucas and Logan Wagner and LaVern Biddle; brother, Larry (Darlene) Londo of Appleton; sister, Mary Ann (Fred) Lundberg of Ontonagon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Denny and Gary.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 12th from 4 to 6 p.m. (Eastern Time) at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Stephen Cowen officiating.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Londo family.

  3. So sorry to hear of Jims passing from Mary Ann on fb. I was the neighbor across the street on Rockland Road. My brother John Leslie and first hubby Jon White were Jims classmates.
    Jon n I and daughters Cassie and Tammie came for an overnight visit and still have a picture of the 4 girls in the tub! Maybe Debbie and Jacqueline remember that. It is nice to see you stayed in home territory. Tamilyn White in Hayward WI and Cas Garcia in Porterville CA are both on fb.
