Jacqueline Marjorie (Snyder) Dagenais, age 39, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2017. “Jackie” was born April 5, 1978 in Escanaba, MI, daughter of Charles and Mary (Schaut) Snyder. She attended Holy Name Catholic School, Escanaba High School, and Bay de Noc Community College.

Jackie resided for much of her life in Oshkosh, WI. She was Event Coordinator and Assistant General Manager at Fox River Brewing Company in Oshkosh, WI. She and her former husband, Gary Dagenais, Jr., owned the first Blimpie’s franchises in Oshkosh.

Jackie studied piano with Ruth Chown from an early age, memorizing Beethoven’s Fuer Elise in two days. She was a vocal student of Mary St. Pierre and a member of the Escanaba Area Public High School Chorale. “Sissy,” as her family fondly called her, was the youngest child of a family of musicians. She developed an impressive soprano voice, and she inspired musical talent in both her children.

Jackie was an avid concert and movie enthusiast. She attended Dave Matthews Band and Green Day concerts with her sons. She and her boys were dedicated fans of Paul McCartney and The Beatles. She enjoyed her parents’ beach front home in Ford River, and she treasured her time at the family cottage at Stella Lake with family and friends. Jackie was bright, artistic, engaged, and curious. She loved reading, she followed current events, and she was an avid astrology enthusiast. She displayed true love for her rag-doll cat, “Kitten,” and for her German Shepherd, “Foster.” She cherished her colleagues at the Fox River Brewing Company in Oshkosh where she found a loving home among people she trusted and admired. Following the recent death of her son, Spencer, Jackie meticulously hand-crafted owls assembled from Lake Michigan driftwood.

Survivors include Jacqueline’s beloved son, Justin Snyder of Oshkosh; parents, Charles and Mary Snyder of Escanaba (Ford River); brothers and sisters Elizabeth (Polly Thistlethwaite) Snyder of Brooklyn, NY, Jerry (Jill) Snyder of DePere, WI, John (Lisa) Snyder of Oshkosh, WI, Susan Snyder of Oshkosh, WI, and Paul (Shari Petaschnick) Snyder of Milwaukee, WI. Nieces and nephews include Eryn (Matt) Mercer-Niehues and great nephew William, Mitchell Snyder and great-niece Brooklyn, Jonathan (April) Bradford, Brennan Snyder, Nicole (Jonathan) Swanson, Andrew Snyder, Alexandria Snyder, Jordan Snyder (Taylor Klotz) and Dylan Snyder-Perez.

Special friends include Fawn (Harmon) Morrow, Kim Segorski, Myra Fields, Kevin Chown, Jill Murray, the Supple family, Rachel Feenstra, Danielle Hilt, Jake Anthony and her special longtime friend, Bret Moody.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Spencer Dagenais on December 7, 2016 and Spencer’s father and loving former husband Gary Dagenais, Jr. on February 21, 2013.

Jackie was a loving and compassionate person who will be forever missed by her family and all her many friends. She worked toward the brightest possible future. “Imagine all the people…living life in peace.”

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21st from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. Visitation will also be held Saturday morning from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Church in Escanaba with Rev. Fran DeGroot. A meal in the church hall will follow, with a Christian burial taking place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
