Irene A. Berger, 98 passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at UP Health Systems in Marquette.
Irene was born August 31, 1919, in Gourley Twp. daughter of Frank and Mary (Baurain) DePas. She was a lifelong resident of Gourley Twp. She attended Highlandale Academy in Wisconsin.
Besides working on the family farm, Irene also worked at Robinson Manufacturing.
On August 15, 1940, Irene married Raymond Berger in Gourley Twp. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2011.
She loved gardening, crocheting, picking wild berries, baking, painting and raising chickens.
She was a lifelong member of Wilson Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Among survivors are her children; Russell (Jean) Berger of Wilson, MI, Beverly (David) Postler of Hendersonville, NC, and Nancy (Paul) Larsen of Lansing, MI; grandchildren, Russell (Colleen) Berger, Aaron (Cindy) Berger, Sandra (Chris) McCullough, Sarah (Chris) Self and Leah (Matt) Holzenkamp, and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Raymond, She was preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Hahn; brother, Nevin DePas; grandsons, Eric Berger and Reuben Larsen, and daughter in law, Karen Berger.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tom Hubbard officiating.
The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Berger family.
