Helen M. Cousineau, 82, Escanaba, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility.
She was born in Escanaba on August 28, 1931, the daughter of Chauncey and Margaret (Desmond) Besson.
Helen graduated from Escanaba High School in 1949.
She married John Cousineau on April 21, 1951 at St. Patrick’s Church in Escanaba.
Helen was an avid reader, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping and going to the casino. She was a member of St. Thomas Church.
She worked at Family Enrichment Bureau and American Greeting until she retired in 2008.
Helen is survived by two daughters, Peggy (Randy) Vincent of Escanaba and Carrie (Jeremy) Carlson of Janesville, WI; two sons, Mike (Diane) Cousineau of Rock, MI and Tony (Patti) Cousineau of Green Bay, WI; sister, Audrey Lamberg of Escanaba; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, John Besson, Robert Besson, James Besson; and sisters, Arlene LaCarte and Mary Young.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 5:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Church with Rev. Rick Courier officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
