Helen M. LaFave, 83, 6706 G Rd., Escanaba, passed away on Friday evening, June 20, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
She was born on January 16, 1931 in Escanaba, daughter of Albert and Bernadette (Dubord) Dubord.
Helen married Henry J. LaFave on June 24, 1950 at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing the Daily Press bingo, and going to the casino and enjoying casino bus tours. Helen loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.
Among survivors include her husband of nearly 64 years, Henry of Escanaba; eight children, Henry Jr. (Karen) LaFave, Bonnie (Keith) Grabowski, Maggie Irving, Robert (Roberta) LaFave, Cindy (Keith) Kamin, Willard (Susan) LaFave all of Escanaba; Jim (Susan) LaFave of Oklahoma and Roger LaFave of Marinette; 24 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Gladys Cousineau of Escanaba and Rita King of Gladstone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Leisner; and brother, Ed Dubord.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 24th from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Emmett Norden officiating.
Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
