Glenn R. LaPalm

Glenn R. LaPalm, 67, 1909 22nd Ave S., Escanaba, passed away at Bishop Noa Home early Saturday morning, November 29, 2014.

He was born on October 22, 1947 in Escanaba, son to Clarence and Verna (Routheaux) LaPalm. Glenn was raised in Hermansville and later moved to Milwaukee. After returning to Escanaba, he graduated from Escanaba High School.

On May 24, 1974, Glenn married Nancy DeMars in Escanaba.

Glenn worked maintenance at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility for 35 years.

He enjoyed the outdoors, doing yard work, walking his dog Molly and being with his family. Glenn enjoyed driving and taking road trips to visit family out of town. Glenn’s faith in God and his church was important to him. He was a long time member of the Wilson Seventh Day Adventist Church where he served as a deacon. The community was important to him, helping others, and he was always willing to assist in a time of need.

Among survivors include his wife, Nancy of Escanaba; sister, Gloria (Blaine) Rhode of Carney; brothers, Clyde LaPalm of Newberry, MI, Keith (Dori) LaPalm of Port Washington, WI and Wendal (Elsie) LaPalm of Escanaba; 32 nieces and nephews and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Lou and Joyce.

In keeping with Glenn’s wishes, no services will be held.

Burial will take place in the spring in the Wilson Seventh Day Adventist Church Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the LaPalm family.

  2. My uncle Glenn is truly a great man. He lived with me when I was a young child. I only have heart warming memories of him. I remember being on his knee. He was like a father I never had. Now he spends his days walking streets of pure gold. I envy your proximity to our dear Lord! We miss you…..

  3. Nancy, I’m so sorry for your loss. Being I was at Pinecrest for almost 30yrs I have many good memories of Glenn, we seen lots of changes over the years. He was always helpful and plesent. I will be praying for you an may God’s peace be with you. sincerely Shirley Kwak
