Francis “Frank” Otradovec

Francis X. “Frank” Otradovec, 64, Wilson, passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at his home.

He was born in Escanaba on July 20, 1951, son of the late Matthew and Irene (Arkens) Otradovec.

Frank graduated from Bark River-Harris High School in 1969.

On July 11, 1970, Frank married the former Linda Kwarciany at St. George Church Bark River.
He was employed as a welder at New Page for 43 years until his retirement in 2013.

Frank was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Bark River, Gourley Township Volunteer Fire Department, Sherriff Department Auxiliary, and the U.P. Steam and Gas Engine Association. He was also a former member of the Hermansville Rescue Squad as a first responder.
He enjoyed the outdoors.

Frank is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Vance Otradovec of Fond du Lac, WI and Dale Otradovec of Escanaba; brothers, Terry (Diane) Otradovec of Bark River and Anthony “Tony” (Darlene) “Pinky” Otradovec of Wilson; grandchildren, Addison Otradovec and Dalyn Otradovec; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River. Parish prayers will be held at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 12, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Darryl Pepin officiating. A meal will follow in the church hall.
Burial will be in Bark River Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Otradovec family.

  2. Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with the Otradovec family. Uncle Frank will be dearly missed. The last time we saw him was a few years ago at the 4th of July picnic. It was the first time he met our daughter Lily. He made her laugh so much with his contagious sense of humor. May our Lord Jesus Christ fill your hearts with the peace and love that only he can provide. We love you all!!!

  7. I was very saddened to hear that Frank had passed away.
    I have so many great memories of time spent with him.
    It was so apparent how close Frank was to his Family and Friends,
    I’m hoping those good times and wonderful memories will bring comfort
    in the days and months ahead.
    I am honored and blessed to have known Frank for the past 40 years
