Emily L. Sacheck

Emily L. Sacheck, 87, Powers, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility.

She was born on April 14, 1928 in Escanaba, daughter to Charles and Barbara Makosky.

On December 13, 1941, Emily married Felix Sacheck Sr. in Schaffer, MI.

Emily was a nurses’ aide at Pinecrest, Christian Park Village and also Bishop Noa Home before her employment with Browns Chair Factory for two years before her retirement in 1980.

She was a member of St. George’s Church in Bark River, St. Mary’s Church in Hermansville and St. Thomas Church and St. Joseph’s Church in Escanaba.

Emily had many hobbies such as sewing, knitting, crocheting and gardening.

Among survivors include her children, Felix J. (Suzanne) Sacheck Jr., Barbara (Gary) Kleikamp, Stephen A. (Yvonne) Sacheck, Allen L. (Diane) Sacheck, Debra M. (Norman) LaPalm, John G. (Rene) Sacheck, and Patrick Sacheck; 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; brother, Charles (Marcella) Makosky; and sister in law, Noella Makosky.

In addition to her parents and husband, Felix, Emily was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold, Eugene, John and Robert Makosky and three sisters, Elsie Zenenberger, Lillian Beauchamp and Shirley Beauchamp.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 13th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Eric Olson officiating. A meal will follow in the funeral home dining area.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Sacheck family with arrangements.

  1. You will be missed….many years of memories remain from the big farm house on the hill with you,uncle flip and all the cousins….you still reminded me of grandma makosky when I saw you….glad Sara and I stopped to see you at sincerest before we lost you to GOD
