Edward J. Paquin

Edward J. Paquin, 83, N16094 Maple St., Spalding, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born on April 18, 1931 in Spalding, son of Raymond and Oneida (Murray) Maki Paquin, and stepson to Henry Maki. Edward attended Powers-Spalding School.

Edward served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a 60 year member of the Tony Revord Post 224, American Legion of Powers where he served as Commander, and was the Vice Commander of the VFW.

On August 27, 1955, Edward married the love of his life, Joanne North, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Spalding. They resided in Spalding for the rest of their lives.

He was employed for 32 years for the Menominee County Road Commission as a grader operator and mechanic. He worked for several years at Graham Transport as a mechanic. Edward also worked for 15 years as a woods worker and truck driver until his retirement in March of 1993.

Among survivors include his four children, Donald (Cindy) Paquin of Milwaukee, WI, Deborah (Donald) Poquette of Escanaba, Edward P. (Susan) Paquin of Nashville, TN, and David (Lisa) Paquin of Sydney, Australia; grandchildren, Malissa Burns, Jason Paquin and Jenna Paquin, Angel (Tony) Schwantes, Holly (Jeffrey) Johnson, Krystal and Kelly Poquette, Ashley Paquin, Meagan (Alan) Carter, Brandon (Emily) Butler, Paige (Daniel) Mangrum; great grandchildren, Hailey Paquin, Zachary and Taylor Johnson, Austin, Aubrey, and Mason Carter, Nathan Mangrum, and Jacob Paquin; sister, Mary Ellen Maki LaMaide; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his companion Jean Lusardi and his dog, Jappy.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joanne; brother, Dennis Paquin; and sisters, Charlene Maki Otradovec and infant sister.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 12 to 3 p.m. Central Time at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. Tony Revord Post 224 will hold services at 2 p.m. Cenral Time. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Central Time with Rev. Michael Vichich officiating. Burial will immediately follow the Mass with a luncheon to follow in the church hall.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Paquin family.
