Delphine A. “Del” Rudden, 94, Escanaba, passed away on Sunday morning, August 21, 2016 at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.
She was born on March 21, 1922 on Escanaba, daughter to Alphonse and Marie (Thomas) Gardner.
On October 19, 1940, Delphine married John J. Rudden in Escanaba. He preceded her in death.
In her early years, she worked at a photography studio. Del was a stay at home mother while raising her family. She worked at St. Thomas School in the cafeteria and later at St. Pat’s School.
Del enjoyed baking, canning, bingo, and loved working with her flowers.
She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
Among survivors include her children, Judy (Jim) Sarasin of Escanaba, Mary Lou (Ken) Luckow of West Bend, WI, William “Tut” (Peggy) Rudden, Gary (Tina) Rudden and Janice (Roger) Poitevint all of Escanaba; grandchildren, Tina (Paul) Marenger, Shelly (Eric) Reim, Dave (Shelly) Sarasin, Scott (Laura) Luckow, Kim Luckow, Chad (Julie) Rudden, Missy (Steve) Kositzky, Jason Rudden, Kelsey Rudden, Brian (Kelly) Poitevint, and Adam (Danielle) Poitevint; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Alice McGillis and Theresa Akerley; brother, Don (Sandra) Gardner; sisters in law, Audrey Gardner and Mona Gardner; brother in law, Don Olson; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Del was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene, Ray and Bill; and sisters, Lu Comstock, Leah Olson, Rosemary Beauchamp and Josephine Grenier.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 26th from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 5 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church with Rev. Rick Courier officiating. A meal will follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. A memorial will be established at a later date.
Entombment will be in the Holy Cross Mausoleum.
