David B. “Dave” Lewis, 56, Gladstone, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.

He was born on February 23, 1960 at Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee, Massachusetts, son of Bruce Lewis.

As a military family, they moved all over the country, residing in Fargo, North Dakota; Guam; along with KI Sawyer Air Force Base in Gwinn.

David served in the U.S. Army.

He was employed for many years as an installer for Benoit’s Lock and Key, a carpenter for Team Cabinetry, and also worked maintenance for West Highland Apartments, Sandhill Apartments and currently for the Gladstone Housing Commission.

Dave was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, archery, and marksmanship. He excelled at fixing things and loved being able to figure out the problem.

He was a member of the Great Lakes Sports and Recreation Club.

Among survivors include his son, Gary Lewis who is currently attending Northern Michigan University in Marquette; his dad, Bruce (Nancy) Lewis of Escanaba; fiancee’, Sherry Grenier of Gladstone; brother, Brian (Lucy) Lewis of Timpson, TX; sister, Cynthia DeLatte of Tomball, TX; Sherry’s children, Josh and Jared Grenier; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy King and sister, Michelle Mueller.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 13th from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Delta County Veterans Council will have military honors at 3 p.m.

Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Dave’s son to assist with expenses.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Lewis family with arrangements.

  1. I am saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. We enjoyed many good times back in the day, Dave had a great talent for cabinet making, I enjoyed working with him for many years. Rest In Peace my friend. Thoughts and prayers are with the family.

  2. Our prayers and heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family, especially our Grandson Gary and his mother Janet. Always remember that your Dad loved you and wanted to be a part of your life. One of his last acts was being with you for school honors on Saturday. Please remember him with fond memories. We Love You!!

The loss of a loved one brings us feelings of anguish and grief, but you can find comfort and hope in God’s word, the Bible. John 5:28,29 says, “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” What this can mean for you is a real hope of being reunited with your dead loved ones in a Paradise on earth where “death is no more.” (Revelation 21:3,4)

  6. To Dave’s family I’m very sorry to learn of Dave’s passing. He was a good friend to my step dad Donnie.Sherry I’m extremely sorry to hear about this. If you need anything please let me know. I just learned of this recently. I would have definitely came to his funeral.
