Carol J. Bergeon, 85, Escanaba, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
She was born in Nahma on December 20, 1930, daughter of the late Wilfred and Marie (Runkel) Willette.
Carol graduated from Nahma High School and moved to Escanaba after graduation.
On June 17, 1950, she married Daniel E. Bergeon at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Nahma.
Carol was an active volunteer with RSVP and helped with organizations such as Senior Companion at Bishop Noa home, cooking for Community Action, and the American Red Cross Blood Drive.
She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
Carol is survived by her children, Daniel Bergeon of Germany, Gary (Judy Weissert) Bergeon of Escanaba, Carol (Duane) Baker of Pontiac, MI, Kathy (Mark) Stanchina, Casselberry, FL, Janice (Dan) Tryan of Ford River, Patrick (Jody) Bergeon of Escanaba, Barbi (Steve) Dubord of Bark River, and Shelly (Leonard) McKeever of Ford River; 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; sister, Joan Leadman of Escanaba; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel; daughter in law, Carmen Bergeon; and siblings, Marlene “Jean” Willette, Bill WIllette, and Ella Mae Willette.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at St. Thomas church officiated by Rev. Rick Courier. A meal will follow in the church hall.
Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
